Sconnect Academy of Media Arts (SAMA) is a comprehensive academy for young talents who aspire to join the animation and game design industries and make their mark internationally. Under the leadership of the Academic Council, which comprises artists from different generations across North and South Vietnam, SAMA provides an environment where students are nurtured in both scholarship and artistry. It’s a place where passion is cultivated, creativity is honed, and students develop their unique identities within Vietnam’s creative industry

Academic Director

Mr. Anh Tuan Trinh (Luka)

A 3D Animation specialist with experience at renowned studios such as Sony Pictures Imageworks (Vancouver), Industrial Light and Magic (Singapore), Cinesite (Vancouver), Brazen Animation Studio (USA), and Agora VFX Studio (USA)

Contributed to major global film and game projects, including Ultraman: Rising (Netflix), Michael and Machines (Netflix), Hotel Transylvania 3, Team Fight Tactics (Riot Games), Arena of Valor (Tencent, Garena), and Princess of Avalor (Disney).

People's Artist Tuan Ngoc Pham

General Director of the Vietnam Animation Studio.

Was honored with the title of People's Artist in 2019 and awarded the State Prize for Literature and Art in 2022 for his lifelong dedication to the arts.

Meritorious Artist Tung Lam Trinh

Founder and CEO of Alpha Animation Studio, and creator of the 3D animated film Trạng Quỳnh thời Nhí nhố.

He has won prestigious awards, including the Golden Kite, Silver Lotus, and Best Director at the 2017 Vietnam Film Festival.

Animation Specialist

Mr. De La Cruz Jose Reginaldo (Reggie)

An artist involved in iconic projects such as Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Amazing Spider-Man, and the Vietnamese comic series Thần Đồng Đất Việt.

He has also worked on Disney films like The Lion King, Aladdin, and Hercules.

Screenwriter

Ms. Ha Thanh Thi Pham

Head of the Screenwriting Department and Communications at the Vietnam Animation Studio, and a lecturer at the University of Theatre and Cinema.

She was recognized as Best Screenwriter at the Vietnam Film Festival in 2015 and 2019, Outstanding Production by the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism in 2018–2019.

Mr. Hai Dinh Pham

Known for his work on animated films such as Tàn thể tiền truyện and TV series like Biệt dược đen.

He won Golden Lotus at the 2015 Vietnam Film Festival and Best Animated Screenplay at the 2023 Vietnam Digital Content Creation Awards.

Director - Artist

Mr. Khanh Duy Vu

A 2D frame-by-frame animation specialist at the Vietnam Animation Studio.

He won the Golden Kite Award in 2018 for his animated film Bí mật của Hang Duôn.

GRADUATE WITH AN EXCELLENCE PORTFOLIO IN ANIMATION PRODUCTION & CHARACTER DESIGN

A Portfolio is a collection of an artist's work, showcasing their artistic projects and serving as evidence of their skills through their creations. In the creative industry, portfolios are widely used and can often replace transcripts or diplomas when applying to studios or production projects. Sconnect Academy of Media Arts (SAMA) designs its curriculum to allow students to participate in animation and game design projects, helping them not only gain practical knowledge and experience but also build an outstanding portfolio.

SAMA encourages students to form production teams and graduate with animation or game design projects. A sample project from the Animation Department serves as a demonstration of the curriculum, graduation standards, and the production process that students are trained in. These projects are evaluated based on elements such as scriptwriting, art direction, character performance, and other factors aligned with the department’s program.
